CRICKET.

HAWERJA BEATS STRATFORD. The deciding match for the South Taranaki supremacy was played on the show ground-yesterday afternoon, Hawera getting the better of the local team by forty-eight runs. ' Batting first, Stratford, who had not been able to put their best team in the field, were only able to knock up sixty-five runs. Hawera, with three wickets down for some twelve runs, did not appear to be able to do much better, but Pratt proved equal to the occasion, and his thirty-three saved the game. Afterwards, Jennings, with thirty-four, made himself top-scorer, with some clean hitting. Following are the detail scores:— STRATFORD.
