■STRATFORD v. HAW ERA. On Thursday, a team representing the Stratford Croquet Chib, invaded -the Hawera lawns, where they were decisively beaten by the home defenders. The weather was not favourable, but the lawns were so good it did not make much difference to the play. Following are the scores (Hawera names being placed first incach instance : ) Doubles. Totals, Hawera 159, Stratford 203. A match will he played between the A and B teams on the local lawns next Thursday.
