Warner cabled, to tho Marylebone Club: “I believe a cable urging that the best team should be sent in view of the triangular matches would have a' good effect here and make peace.” He received the following reply from Lord Desborough, President of the Marylebone Club: “As President, 1 am certain that the counties and all English cricketers will be bitterly disappointed if Australia is, not represented in the triangular contests by its best team.
