CRICKET.
STRATFORD v. MANAIA. Notwithstanding the fact that the weather, in Stratford was, to say the least, uninviting for cricket, the local team journeyed to Manaia and found the weather there, if anything, a trifle worse. However, with the aid of much sawdust, a start was made and a game which eclipsed the most sanguinary expectations resulted. Dunlop played his usual good game, ana howled at the top of his form, hisi av-' erage of five for ten runs being a brilliant effort. Stratford’s total of 64 was made on a treacherous wicket with a dead outfield. In addition, but nine men batted. Manaia, however, were not, equal to the occasion, and were all but for 44, Stratford thus winning comfortably by 20 runs. Details areas follows: • STRATFORD.—First Innings.
