At the •Methodist Conference in the afternoon the subject of union with the Primitive Methodist Church was dealt with. The basis of union formulated by the joint committee in June last was unanimously agreed to. Provision was. ' made, for min,or'alterations, if approved by the union committees of both churches. A. .strong committee was appointed to represent the church in dealing with such matters. The nextteonfereilco will be held in Wellington. Auckland, March 5. The Methodist Conference referred the recommendation from tho Wanganui district for appointing a 'home missionary for the district north or Mokau and that special attention he paid to the growing needs of tho district along the Main Trunk lino to tho Home Mission -Committee.
