' Wellington, March 2. The largest estate of a deceased person finally ceritned for st<mp duty last month was that of Robert MoLachlan, Southland—£24,66B. The largest Taranaki estates were:—William Onell £6645, Margaret Valintine £5845, John Randall £3911, Thomas Inch £1194, Patrick Kelly £976. The leading prize-winners in the snap shooting were:—Law, Dannevirke, 20,' £3; Hawley, Opaki, 23, £2; Simonds, Waitohi, 21, £2. Auckland, March 2. ' At the!banquet tendered to the delegates to the Methodist Conference by the new Theological College Committee last night, it was announced that a sum, of over £7200 Had been; subscribed towards the building fund of the. new. college, and promises, of £9OO were made in the room.
