The vital -statistic® for the month show deaths twenty, births one, an i marriages one. Last year the figures were six,' twenty-four, and five respectively. ' r -- A very enjoyable and profitable afternoon was spent yesterday in the beautiful grounds of Mr. and Mrs. H. Sanders, tvhen an-afternoon-in aid of the trust fund of the Primitive Methodist Church was held. The amount obtained is not at present ascertainable, but it should bo highly satisfactory. The weather, which in the morning appeared none too favourable, cleared up beautifully; enabling tennis, croquet, and other out-door games to be played.
