NORMANBY SHOW.
Entries for the Normanby Horticultural Society’s Show, which takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday next, March sth and 6th, promise to bo the best yet received at any Show the Society has held. A correspondent says:—“A perusal of the sche-
dulo will show intending exhibitors that, in the matter of special prizes, they have been well provided for, and in addition to the class prizes Valuable trophies have been allotted to each section. In pot plants, Mr Pill gives a prize for the best collection. The class for decorated tables
will this year be judged by public vote and should draw large entries. In the farm and garden section, Mr P. O’Dea’s special prizes for the best collection of roots and tubers, grown on one farm, should be a special attraction to farmers, as also should that for the best collection of potatoes, given by Mr J. Were; the prizes in this section. ]iave’“been all largely increased. In the Home Industries class the President (Mr E. J. Shrimpton) gives a handsome cakestand, value £2 2s as a points prize, and valuable prizes are also offered for competition in the various bread and cake classes. The poultry section has this year been thoroughly revised by an expert and will he found up-to-date, whilst the entry has been reduced to 6d, and the fancy should Therefore endeavour to fill the benches. The school children of the district have been well" catered for, as there are Hasses for vegetables, flowers, noodle-work, and hand-writing.’*
