STEEL AND IRON. ) (Received 24, 10.50 a.m.) Sydney, February 21. At the half-yearly meeting of the Broken Hill Proprietary the chairman announced that the manager was at present in Europe collecting information relating to the manufacture of iron and steel with a view to extending the Proprietary’s enterprise. They possessed a largo depot and good ironstone and iron at Knot, South Australia.. The Commonwealth’s requirements in iron and steel rails would be large in the next few years.
