Brandon attempted to escape .from the fortress at Wesel. He hied through his window bars and succeeded iu reaching the courtyard by a rope, but was recaptured by a sentry. A UNANIMOUS DENIAL. (Received 26, 8.5 a.m.)', Berlin,* February. 25. The commandant of the fortress and friends deny Brandon’s alleged attempt to escape.
