THE ITALIAN HOUSE RATIFIES ANNEXATION. BY A HUGE MAJORITY. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (United Press Association.) Rome, February 24;. 'The Chamber of Deputies, amid enthusiasm, ratified the annexation of Tripoli by 423 to 9. There was a popular demonstration before the Chamber, and at the Quirinal t!he King and Ministers received an ovation. \ ITALIAN NAVAL ACTIVITY. Constantinople, February 25. Messages state that Italian warships demanded the surrender of the corvette Avnillah and a torpedoer. Before a iroply could bo given they were bombarded. Neither was under steam. The Customs House and harbour buildings were damaged, and the bombardment created a panic. Many fled to Lebanon, and others were forced to refuge; in the armoury, where they armed themselves. Some disturbances occurred in the town. t > Altogether fifteen wore killed and a hundred wounded.
