THE TERRITORIALS.
SUCCESSFUL FIRST CAMP. fPer Press Association!) AVellington, February 23. The Minister for Defence (Sir Joseph AATard) has received the following telegram from General Godloy, Commandant of the Forces:—“The first infantry camp in the Dominion under the now scheme has been most'-suc-cessful. Colonel Heard, who has Loon north, reports that the spirit shown and instruction gained at the camp of the 6th Hauraki Regiment was all that could he desired, and 1 have the same to report of the 4th Otago Regiment here in spite of the very had weather. The new men have all taken the greatest interest in the work, and finished up their week’s soldiering by marching 15 miles into Dunedin without casualties, and in a style which would have done credit to a regular battalion. I think it would have a very good effect if you would make this public.”
AMBULANCE CAMP. The Wellington ambulance corps will go into camp at Saatoun, Wellington, early next month. The members of the Stratford corps (section C, 4th field ambulance) have been notified to assemble at the Defence Office at 8.15 a.m. on March Bth for tiro purpose of proceeding south by the mail train. There are about sixteen members in the Stratford section.
