AVIATION ACCIDENT.
AIRMAN ESSAYS TO CROSS A FROZEN LAKE. BUT FAILS TO RETURN. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (United Press Association.) (Received 22, 11.45 a.m.) Ottawa, February 21. The aviator Sandt attempted a flight across Lake Erie while frozen. He is missing. A FEARFUL EXPERIENCE. (Received 22, 1 p.m.) Ottawa, February 21. After Sandt had journeyed from Erie across the lake to the Canadian shore lie started to return, but had not proceeded far when the engine of his aeroplane' stopped and the machine was overturned. Sandt fell unconscious into the snow which covered the frozen lake and when he recovered found himself covered with blood from many cuts. Two boys who witnessed the accident brought aid and Sandt was rescued. Ho had cro'ssed Lake Erie in 34 minutes.
