DUNEDIN WOOL SALES
(Per Press Association.)
Dunedin, February 21'
Business at the third wool sale of tlie Dunedin series this morning was disappointing on the whole. Some 13,000 bales were offered, including a fay - proportion of good quality wool. The bulk, however, was somewhat inferior. There was an absence of American representatives, and consequent--ly prices for lots suitable for that country showed a decline of from a farthing to three farthings per lb. Crossbreds were also weaker to the extent of a halfpenny. Medium lots were practically on the same level as .last month’s sales. All Now Zealand: factories were not represented. Those: who were, were cautious in .bidding for merino, which suffered a ■decline to the extent of a halfpenny. The top price obtained till one o’clock was 12d. It is generally thought that the universal strikes are affecting the demand.
