Rome, February 16. The .newspapers state that General Cavena lias informed the Government he is unable to provide a decisive victory in Tripoli which would enable Italy to impose ■unconditional peace. All he could offer was the slow conquest of Tripoli and Cyrenaica. . BRITISH CRUISER FIRED UPON. Aden, February 16. The Turkish fort at Perim shelled tlhe British cruiser Dido, mistaking her for an Italian vessel. H.M.S. Dido had not heard of the blockade, and approached the fort.
