CHANGE OF INDIA’S CAPITAL JUSTIFIED.
PERSIA’S LITTLE PROBLEM,

Mr Asquith justified the change of tiie capital of India from Calcutta to Helhi, and said there was good reason to hope that stable Government would bo created in Persia, where Russian troops were being withdrawn. He angrily repudiated Mr Bonar Law’s insinuation at the Albert Hall that the Government was creating offices with the intention of filling them with their own political partisans, and challenged Mr Bonar Law to prosecute the charge in the Houso Commons. l.

SUCCESS OF THE INDIAN VISIT,

Earl Crewe made a statement similar to Mr Asquith’s. Ho emphasised the success of the Indian visit. Lord Landsdowne declared that the Government would have the Opposition’s support in its efforts to dispel the misunderstanding with Germany. He said the legislative programme outlined in the Speech from the Throne was preposterous. HOUSE OF LORDS REFORM.

The official Opposition amendment to the Addross-in-Reply will be moved on the nineteenth. It censures the Government for proceeding with great constitutional changes before carrying out its pledges to reform the House of Lords.
