' LONDON PRODUCE MARKET. Following is a copy of the report (dated January 4th) received by Mr Newton King from it. and W. Davidson, Glasgow:— Continental Butters.—The market this week has been considerably firmer, there being good demand and stocks of choicest are entirely cleared, i elegraphic advices yesterday from Copenhagen indicate that the market there is very much firmer, and the quotation to-day has been declared two kroner up. Danish and Swedish; The arrivals of Danish tin's week show an increase of 660 casks. There was a bright active demand and stocks were speedily cleared at about last week’s prices; choicest quality may be quoted 131 s to 1355. Sibcri an : The arrivals this week were very small, a fen mat wore landed have met with r. brisk enquiry, and have been readily cleared at 126 s to 128 s for strictly choicest quality, ordinary finest fetches 122 s to 1245. There is practically no secondary or inferior butter offering at the moment.

Colonial Butters.—Australian: The arrivals this week comprise the s.s. India with 40,000 boxes, and the s.s. ilunic with 13,009 boxes. Merchants in the south and west of England owing to their stocks of Irish, French, and othe butters being completely exhausted, have since the Christmas holidays been buying heavily with the result that the market during the past fdw days lias boon very strong and prices are advancing daily. The total advance during the past week has been about 6s per cwt; strictly choicest quality maf now bo quoted 132 s to 1335, secondary description? are relatively very dear, very litth of this grade being /’ now obtainable under 12Ss Vo 130 s; unsalted is ir fair supply, but little or nq premium is obtainable over the price of Salted New: i Zealand: There is : nothing or spot, but the s.s. Turakina with 47, 522 boxes on board has now beer, docked. We believe considerable sale: have been made during the past few days ex this vessel h't 132 s to 133; landed; to-day 7 the .value for choices! quality, is 135 s to 1365. Wo might mention that in the provinces' New Zealand butter is costing buyers : Considerably higher figure than tin price at which thoy can secure thei; supplies of Danish. Imports to the Uni ted Kingdom: The total figures u] to 30th December of this year, and for the corresponding period of 1908 1909, and 1910, arc as follows; 1908 4,177,904 cwts; 1909, 4,069,103 cwts 19,10, 4,309,478 cwts; 1911, 4,300,952 cwts.

Cheese.—Canadian: There has again been an active market and prices have further advanced Is to 2s per cwt choicest white and coloured now lie ing quoted 73s to 745. New Zealand There is an excellent enquiry and the market continues very firm ; prices show an increase of about 2s pci cwt, both white and coloured now being quoted 72s to 735. Imports tc the United Kingdom: The total fig ures up to 30th December of this year, and for the corresponding period o J 1908, 1909, and 1910 are as follows 1908, 2,309,488 cwts; 1909, 2,389,36! cwts; 1910, 2,(74,029 cwts; 1911, 2,-3-17,188 cwts.
