John Graham, who was one of the two men wounded by. Axel Snertringcd in the stabbing affray at Frank ton on January IStb, died in the Waikato hospital this morning. His dying depositions were taken yesterday. Snortringe conics before the Court tomorrow. Auckland, February 14. Xows from Fiji per the Zealandia states that the hurricane will prove a set-back to the colony. /Alnihst the entire group lias suffered—copra from the effects of wind and bananas from floods. It will be six months before the bananas return to their normal condition, although probably enough fruit is left to satisfy the Sydney and New Zealand markets. Native foods suffered severely. The hurricane did great damage at Savn Bay. It will be several months before that district returns to a normal condition. Hapaai suffered very considerably. The steamer Dorringo was stranded in the Lau group and it will cost some hundred pounds to repair her.
