LATE LOCALS.

/ A Press Association telegram from Gisborne sates that Mr. G. H. Bullard* district surveyor, has been appointed Commissioner of Crown Lands lor Taranaki. The new railway Tiridge in the vicinity of the Abattoirs was Completed yesterday afternoon, after strenuous work by the bridge gang during Saturday night and yesterday morning. Messrs. Wake and Wright, barristers and solicitors, move into their new offices in Broadway this week. The new premises make a decided improvement to the outlook of : our main street, and, inside, are fitted up in excellent style. Skylights have been inserted in the four largo rooms, and the whole building has been so 1 renovated as to leave no trace that it ever served the purpose of a restaurant.
