The Horowhenua Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s Annual Show was held at Levin yesterday. There was perfect weather and a record attendance. The show was opened by the Hon. D. Buddo. The stock were in splendid condition, and the entries wore the highest to date.—. The StateFarm at Weraroa made a notable exhibition of dairy stock, the Holsteins looking especially fine. Some recently imported Romney sheep were another attractive feature of the farm exhibit. The boys’ Training Farm at Weraroa (another institution) also' made a creditable display of Holstein stock.
Wellington, February 1
The Supreme Court sessions opened to-day before Mr Justice Chapman. In his charge to the Grand Jury, His Honor said the list for consideration was considerably shorter than usual. There were only seven cases in all, including one sexual case, which was one of the most serious before the Court for a very long time. Mr 11. A. Wright, . ex-member for Wellington South, was entertained at a social gathering last evening, and presented by the electors with an 8day clock. He also received a presentation of specimens of native grass Clothing from Cook Island white residents, as an appreciation of the able and fearless manner in which he had dealt with Cook Island matters in Parliament.
