CRICKET MANAGER APPOINTED
Sydney, February 2. A meeting of the Board of Control received the six recalcitrant players’ protest without comment, and proceeded to appoint G. Couch, a prominent Queensland player as the Board’s manager of the team visiting England. (Received 3, 10.25 a.m.) Sydney, February 3.
Hill was present at the meeting of the Board of Control. Seen afterwards, he had nothing to say regarding the Board’s action in appointing a manager. This is taken as an indication that he is dissatisfied that the players did not press their protest. The available section was given ten days to decide. It was further decided that if the players,also appoint a manager bis salary (£400) and expenses will be charged -against the expanses of the tour. The meeting approved the fixtures of the English tour. S AVI AIMING CHAMPIONSHIPS. (Per Press Association.) AVanganui, February 1.
