TAKAPUNA MEETING.

Auckland, January 27. The Takapuna Summer Meeting opened in line weather. There was a large attendance, and the course was fast. Results:— Maiden Plate.—Tiresome 1, Invader 2, Firelock 3. Scratched: Marina, Regina, St. Lewis. Tiresome took charge at the straight and won iby a length and a half. Time, Imin 44 2-osec.
Zealandia Handicap.—Red Lupin 1, Hikuai 2, Lucille 3. Scratched: Mighty Atom, Mahinga, Solitudo. Won by a length, a neck between second and third. Time, 50 l-ssec. •
