The Duke of Connaught and party viewed the city from the top of the highest office buildings in the world. A crowd of Now Yorkers awaited their descent, the visitors experiencing some difficulty in making their way through the concourse. In the evening a ball was given at Ambassador Reid’s residence, at which three hundred society loaders attended.
A VISIT FROM CADETS. (Received 25, noon.) Vancouver, January 2-1. Arrangements have been concluded for a visit of Vancouver cadets to Australia. They leave here on July 10th.

The Medina, with the King, and Queen aboard, has arrived. A French squadron assisted in welcoming her.
PUG-MOTORIST MULCT. (Received 25, 11.0 a.m.) London, January 24. Albert Rowley was awarded £46 damages against Jack Johnson whose motor car smashed plaintiff’s taxi-cab.
