- The drum-major medal for highest points in drill was awarded to DrumMajor Davie, of the Kaikorai Band, and the gold medal for the best drummer to the Woolston drummer.
The champion cornet solo was won by T. Godall (Wellington Tramways), 98; E. 0. Sullivan (Lyttelton Marino), 93; S. Williams (Woolston), 90. A protest was entered against the decision in the quickstep competition. An announcement was made at the show grounds to the effect that Woolston won, but this was amended by a subsequent recount. A protest was entered by Woolston Band, who objected to the recount being made in the absence of representatives of each band.
