Heard a little joke lately ■concernag a wedding parly, says tiie Waitara .orrespoiicleiit of tne ‘‘Taranaki Herdd.” After the happy pair were fareyelled at the station, mey suddenly discovered that the bridal trousseau lad been left behind. The agitated msband got out at a passing station, ind wired to a relative to send the nissing hamper on. In due course he received a parcel containing an old pair of trousers and a post card which cad, “Dear Bill.—Got your wire all right, searched the house, and could ,nJy find this pair, though what the dickens you can want them for licks ne.—Tom,”. After he recovered from .he shock the recipient came to the conclusion that his spelling of the .vord “trousseau” must have been at :ault, and now he always looks up the dictionary when in doubt. I hasten .0 state that this occurence took place outside Taranaki.
