SEVERE RUSSIAN SENTENCE CONDEMNED.
RECENT GERMAN CONVICTIONS

Contrasted with the mild sentences inflicted on Russian spies, military circles are bitterly indignant at the action of the Russian Court in sentencing the German captain charged with espionage to five years in convict ;pngs in Siberia. Von Cerno, who was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment, had offered his services to the Russian intelligence bureau, who sent him to Kiel, where kis report was unimportant. Vinogradorff was an-active officer of the Russian Navy, and was sent to Germany ".o watch Von Cerno.
