Frederick Seddon district superintendent of the London and Manchester Assurance Company, was arrested on a charge or poisoning Eliza Barrow by giving her arssenic. The body of the woman was exhumed. It is alleged that Seddon controlled the woman’s property and paid her an annuity. Mrs Seddon has now been arrested as an accessary to the murder charge. The evidence shows that the Seddons induced Barrow to lodge with them and to give them property, including £I6OO in India stock, on consideration of Seddon paying her £3 weekly. Berlin, January 16. The Socialists polled 4,238,000 votes, the Centre Party 2,012,000, the National Liberals 1,671, 010, the Radicals 1.556.000, and the Conservatives 1.159.000, out of a total of 12,188,000 votes.
