SLY-GROGGING.
SOUTHERN EX-PU BLI CA N GETS A HEAVY FINE. A CONTENTION DISREGARDED. (Per Press Association.) Dunedin, January 18. Patrick Collins, landlord of the old North Western Hotel, Palmerston South, which is in a no-license district, was fined €2B, and costs, for selling liquor without a license. The Magistrate declined to accept counsel’s contention that this was an isolated ease.
