THE OSAKA FIRE.
CROAVDED WORKMEN’S QUARTER SWEPT. SOLDIERS ASSIST FIREMEN. (Received 17, 10.40 a.m.) Tbkio, January 16. The fire originated in a house of illfame. The whole of the water being consumed, many women perished. The llainos spread to.a crowded workmen’s quarter. Soldiers' assisted the firemen in quelling the outbreak, which was controlled after ten hours’ duration. ,
