Admiral King-Hall, addressing binejackets, said that in days to come very extensively the Commonmealth would depend for her policy and prowess on her naval forces. There was urgent necessity for .making the first line of defence so efficient and ready that when the time for testing it came, if t ever did, the Australian navy would be ready to take its place in line with the fleet of the Old Country in defence >f the shores of Australia.
