The capitalists appear to have what money there is in circulation, and all industrial enterprise is being handicapped in consequence. The New York correspondent of an Auckland paper confirms this view and gives the following instance:—“Talking the other day to a man who had a list of five thousand dollars, all good honest accounts on his hooks, and no one account more than two or three hundred dollars, he said that he actually did not have more than ten dollars in cash in his possession.
