BAND OF HOPE.

ENTERTAINMENT AT CARDIFF,

The Cardiff Band of Hope held a popular session on Thursday evening last, the president/ Rev. B. Metson, presiding. The programme, which was rendered to a crowded audience, met with a splendid reception, the various items, particularly the dialogues, meriting the unstinted applause of those present. The following contributed to the evening’s enjoyment;— Pianoforte solos, Miss Muriel Rogers and Mr Claude Marchant; solos, Die Misses McEadgen and Neale; recitations, .Misses IVI. Wade, Mandor, M. Bonell and Messrs Belton and S. Hancock; instrumental trio, Miss Burkett and Messrs Parker (2); vocal quartette, Misses Belton, and Messrs Belton and Morrison. A dialogue entitled “A Bit of a Tiff” was excellently given, and caused much amusement, the following members taking their parts well: —Miss E. Lacey, 1. Hancock,- and Mrs J. Richards, and Messrs C. Marchant and S. Hancock. Miss M. David and Master Ralfc presented a useful item entitled, “In ,i Dilemma,” which was appreciated The newly-formed choir sang an anthem with fine tune and expression. At the close of the programme, an enticing supper was handed round by a bevy of workers, and a delightful evening was concluded by the singing of the “Old Hundred.”
