A, granddaughter discovered a couple, aged eighty-two and seventyeight, murdered in their beds at Lo Alans. Burglars had stolen £56, the proceeds of a sale of land. A miser, aged eighty-two, murdered his daughter and attempted suicide to avoid payment of an indemnity after being charged with, arson. ■ A triple suicide- occurred at Calais, of a‘ wife, husband,, and son, who had failed in the haberdashery business.
