CORRESPONDENCE.
THE STRATFORD RACES.
(LVj the Editor “Stratford Post.”)
Sir,— Kindly allow mo space in your valuable paper “to make a few remarks re urn Stratford Racing Clue, r nstly, I must compliment the Club on tin! excellent improvements that have been carried out on tne grounds during Mia past twelve months. Inc now fencing around the front and side of the lawn lias attributed largely to us beauty, and tne new stewards’ stand is a lovely building, and was greatly admired by many, as well as the other improvements at various points on the course. But, secondly, Air Editor, there are a few delects that have yet to be remedied, and 1 would humbly advise tiie Committee of the Club, for its future meetings, to again re-in state the IDs totalizator. If the Club lias never- been pulled to pieces before, it was sadly done so at its last meeting, mostly on account of there being no lUs machin— Another item in future that wants attention is the placing of a black board witJi the names of tne various jockeys riding in each race facing the outside paddock, as tne one inside only supplied information to the people on the lawn. Surely that was not done as u catch to draw the public into paying 7s (id to get on to tne lawn? ret another, sir, probably the most inconvenient or an was that there were not suilicient totalisaiors to supply tiie wants of the paulic, as tne snutters were often closed down with the rails still lull of people waiting to do what others haa done, and iu addition me paying out or the dividends should ue livened up somewhat, as oiceii another race was near starting before the dividend had been paid out on tne previous race, and the-ones so waiting were occasionally too late to pat oa their “ntuo bit” >on the next race. i thank you, air Editor, lor encroaching on your -space; and J trust Unit tne committee will take into their earnest consideration the few matters that I have mentioned, and tuns make the Stratford races wnat tney r really ought to be—the oest meeting ou the coast, and in future prevent all further grumbling by giving the public no cause for complaint.—l am, etc., RACEGOER.
