BRITAIN AND GERMANY.
FRIENDLY SPEECHES BY BRITISH STATESMEN. A PATRIOT’S DUTY. London, January 3. Writing to the International Arbitration League, Lord Haldane says he believes the future holds better and more intimate relations between Germany and Britain than the past. Air Lewis Harcourt declares that every patriotic Englishman must desire to promote Anglo-German friendship. Mr McKenna says only goodwill is needed to preserve friendly relations. Mr Sydney Buxton and other members of the Cabinet sent similar messages.
