AN APPRECIATION.
(To the Editor “Stratford Post.”)" Sir, —Seeing in your report of the last meeting of the Stratford County Council t '■ a Air.' Baskin, of Midhirst, had. , -mi complaining at the way the newly-appointed night ranger has heon carrying out his duties, kindly allow me siiaco in your valuable columns to say the new,, innovation (night ranger for Midhirpt township, etc.), has been a great success. As an old resident of. twenty years, 1 may say I have never seen, the township and adjoining, roads, so free from stray stock. Except.for an occasional -horse, perhaps belonging to the contractors, who have been carting metal for the Council, there, is nothing to comnlain about, and, anyhow, a horse will not do the .harm to roads and fences I ke old milking cows are capable of doing. Prior to the advent of the night ranger, it was .no uncommon sight to see eight or nine cows grazing on the roads. Wishing the night ranger “A prosperous New Year,” although I think ther.e will ho a “slump” iu the market as regards milking cows, owing to his past attention in this, direction..,, and may he, ho as impartial in the future as ho has been in the past.—T am, etc., t , LIVE AND LET LIVE. Midhirst/ January 4th, 1912.'
