SCHOOL CONCERT.
AT TUTUTAWA. (From Our Own Correspondent.) A concert and dance was held in the 'Tututawa Hall on the Friday preceding Christmas in aid of the school prize fund. It was thought that owng to the Christmas festivities elsewhere the attendance would ho small, but very much to the surprise of those instrumental in getting up the concert, the hall was very well filled. Mrs. McMillan, the teacher, and Mr. Simpson, are to he complimented upon the results obtained. The way in which the children carried out their portion of the programme must lie very gratifying to both, no prompting being required from the youngest to the oldest. The thanks of the committee are due to the parents for the assist-
ance rendered in preparing the drosses, etc., for the character and action songs, and also to those who assisted in decorating the hall, which looked very nice; to Mr. McMillan for the use of timber and erecting the stage, and to Mr. Steel for carting same; to Mr. Lowers, who very kindly donated material for the fancy dresses lor the children; and to Mr. Perry for the use of screens. A distribution of prizes was made by Mrs. Simpson during the evening, also live attendance certificates, one first-class a.ncl_ four second-class.
