At the Magistrate’s Court tin's morning, before Mr C. D. Solo, J.P., a first offending drunk was convicted and discharged. Quite a largo number of cases of pocket-picking which occurred yesterday are reported. In all cases the sums stolon were fairly largo, and in some cases were considerable. A remarkable feature of the cases which have come under notice is that the sufferers were not country residents, who are usually supposed to be careless about their money, but were men in big businesses, who are usually credited with great ability “Lo have and to hold” money.
