A Press Association telegram states that the Wellington postal officials, from December 20th to 23rd, handled 8266 bags and hampers, an increase of 860 on the 1910 figures. The value of the stamps sold in Wellington for the same period was £4022, an increase of £726. They are record figures in both instances.
Mr. T. Gibson Bowles, in a published letter, says ho is rejoining the Conservatives because the Liberals are controlled by the Nationalist and Socialist allies, and have become a revolutionary party. Mr. Bowles sat for King’s Lynn as a Conservative from 1892 to 1906, but since 1910 has been a member of the Liberal party.
