Jn the House, Mr. Deakin declared that there was no public demand for a Federal Saving Lank. It emanated from a theoretical cause. By the nationalisation of the Bank tire States would he deprived of opportunities for growth. Mr. Fisher was of opinion that the essential part of the Commonwealth banking scheme was that the States would not he embarrassed.
