The annual meeting of the Stratford branch of the W.C.T.U. was held in the Primitive Methodist schoolroom yesterday afternoon, proceedings being very enthusiastic. The following officers were elected; President, Mrs T. White; vice-president, Dlrs Lilly; secretary, Dlrs Mackay; recording secretary, Mrs McAllister; treasurer, Dlrs Solo; cradle roll superintendent. Miss McKeown; white ribbon agent, Mrs Petrie. Visiting members were appointed. Details for the “rest tent” at the showgrounds were arranged. An interesting address was given by Dlrs Spence, of Palmerston. A deputation was received from the Ngairc branch. Dainty afternoon tea was dispensed by Mrs White’s Bible class girls. Mr. J. B. Hiue was nominated this morning for the .Stratford seat, his nominators being, Messrs George Sangstcr (Stratford), R. PI. Cameron (Stratford), John Petrie (Stratford), J. H. Ashton (Stratford), E. W.
