The annual meeting of the Stratford branch of the W.C.T.U. was held in the Primitive Methodist schoolroom yesterday afternoon, proceedings being very enthusiastic. The following officers were elected; President, Mrs T. White; vice-president, Dlrs Lilly; secretary, Dlrs Mackay; recording secretary, Mrs McAllister; treasurer, Dlrs Solo; cradle roll superintendent. Miss McKeown; white ribbon agent, Mrs Petrie. Visiting members were appointed. Details for the “rest tent” at the showgrounds were arranged. An interesting address was given by Dlrs Spence, of Palmerston. A deputation was received from the Ngairc branch. Dainty afternoon tea was dispensed by Mrs White’s Bible class girls. Mr. J. B.
