THE GLEBE MURDER.
CONFLICTING STATEMENTS BY THE SUSPECT. GIVES A WRONG NAME. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (United Press Association.) Melbourne, November 23. Moir has been remanded to Sydney. The police, in their evidence, state that when accused was arrested he gave the name of Carmichael, and stated that he lived at Ballarat, and had never been in Sydney. He afterwards admitted that his name was Moir, and that he knew Trevascus. Also that he wrote a letter to him, signed “Fisher,” offering to sell platinum pins, through which he was traced. MOIR HAS FRIENDS IN HIGH PLACES. A SYDNEY RUMOUR. Sydney, November 23. An evening newspaper is responsible for the statement that Moir, arrested in Melbourne charged with the murder of Trevascus, at Glebe, ns a nephew of Mr. Carmichael, Minister of Labour.
