ENGLISH RAILWAY MEN

London, November 22. in the House of Commons, Mr. Ramsay MacDonald moved demanding that the Government bring the railway companies into conference with the men's representatives. He denied that the men had agreed to accept the Commission’s findings. They put no names to the terms of settlement.
Mr. Asquith said the Government were unable to subscribe to the censure of the companies contained in the motion. The directors were entitled to believe that the railway men would accept the findings. THE LJTHGOW STRIKERS. Sydney, November 23. British ironworkers have promised the Lithgow men assistance if ( the strike continues. MEAGHER-ONSLOW CASE. Sydney, November 23. In the Meagher v. Onslow slander action a verdict was given lor defendant. . The Judge, in summing up, held that Mr Onslow’s words being used during an election campaign were used on a privileged occasion. Mexico, November 22. Orders have been issued to mobilise 25,000 men to suppress a new insurrectionary movement.
