AUCKLAND WOOL SALES.
(Per Press Association.) Auckland, November 22. There was a very large bench of buy’ors at the opening wool sales today, 612 S bales being offered. The wool was sound and well-grown, but lighter than at the corresponding sale of last year. Competition was very brisk. Values ruled lower at opening sale last season, but the drop not so much' as anticipated, good wools selling well at a penny to throe-halfpence lower; other descriptions at about a penny’ lower than fast year. Prices ranged: Shropshire's ami Romney, 9d to 93d; Merino crossbred, 7ld to 73e1; inferior and stained, G’.d; lambs wool, 7d.
