WELL-KNOWN JOCKEY’S DEATH. (Per Press Association i Christchurch, November 13. ' Charles Cross, a jockey from Ha.— tings, died at tlio hospital, and at the inquest held this afternoon a verdict was returned that death war. due to gastro enteritis. A BELTING FATALITY. Christchurch, November 13. William Lurch, a young man employed in Auslebrook’s biscuit factory, was killed by being caught in the belt of anj engine. He was whirled round the pulley and terribly injured.
