RAILWAY ACCIDENTS.

(Per Press Association.) Mar ton, October ‘26. Frederick Nagel, aged 42 years, railway ganger, residing at Clill' Hoad, near Mar ton, was run over, by a ballast train this morning, and his left leg and right arm were completely severed, and his head badly lacerated. He died shortly after being conveyed to the Marten station. Deceased slipped in attempting to get on the ballast train, and was carried under the trucks. He leaves a widow and four youngs children. Woodvillo and Malmrahara stations. Mr Widdopp, Chief Engineer of Railways, and Mr Nelson, foreman of works at Wellington, y, ere journeying on a railway motor inspecting the bridges toward Daunevirke, when they were run into by Ibe 10.20 train- to Woodville. Mr Widdopp escaped injury, but Mr Nelson had Ins left_ leg broken in two places, and sustained oilier serious injuries. He was brought on to Woodville, Where he was attended bv Dr. Mules, who ordered his removal to the Palmerston hospital.
