SUPPOSED SUICIDE.
A PEA-RIFLE WOUND. (Per Press Association.l Carterton, October 24. News was received in Carterton at a late hour last night that a man named Harry Scott was found at To Wharau in an unconscious condition with a Indict wound in Ids head. The Carterton police,* accompanied by a doctor, went out and -ordered the man to bo conveyed to the Masterton Hospital. The wound, over the left eye, was inflicted by a pea-rifle, which was lying Close beside the body. The circumstances point to suicide, Ipit there is no cause assigned for the deed. The man is aged about 45. He is well known in the Wairarapa. Ho isv still unconscious and is sinking fast.
