THE SHIPPING TROUBLE.

Christchurch, October 13
The Canterbury Steam Shipping Company’s steamer Breeze arrived at Lyttelton at 8 o’clock this morning from the Bluff. All bands were paid off this afternoon, only the master, and one engineer standing by. The vessel will be laid up until such time as a settlement of the shipping dispute is reached. Wanganui, October 13. As a consequence of the shipping strike,goods have to be railed to Wanganui., Owing to the extra cast, the wholesale Houses announce an i; crease in prices of general provisions.
