His Excellency, displaying that interest in agriculture which is so pleasing and encouraging to those engaged in farming pursuits, made a special request that lie should be personally introduced to as many fanners as possible during his stay in Hawke’s Bay. As time went on they might expect keen competition in the disposal of products, but increased scientific methods of ianniiig would ensure success. He advised thorn not to put all their eggs in the one basket. The grower of fruit should also be a small farmer. Ho rejoiced to
