HAWKESBURY MEETING

i Sydney, September 24. Hawkesbury Handicap, one mile and a quarter and IUO yards, resulted :—Britain 1, Sandbath 2, Flaxen 3. The High-weight Handicap, one mile, was won by Aphaea. There were nine starters. Won by half a length. Time, 2miu 14sec. OTAKI MEETING. FURTHER EVENTS. (Per Press Association.) Otaki, September 24. President’s Handicap, 125 sovs; one mile.—Projectile 1, Equitas 2, Voetgang 3. Also ran; Tranui, Waipunui, Countermine, Floater, St. Felix, First Consul, and First Battery. At the cry of “Go,” Floater burst through the tapes and carried them, while Equitas, on the rails, got away with several lengths’ clear lead. She led to the bend for homo, whore Projectile caught and passed her. Over the la'st dozen strides Equitas came again, but Projectile maintained his lead and won >y a length, Yoetgang close up. Time, Imin 43 3-osec. The stewards held an enquiry into the riding of Equitas, but after hearing statements both by the rider and the owner, it was decided to take no further action. Stewards’ Hack, six furlongs.— Llongomau 1, St. Bees 2, Ahupai 3. Also ran: Parewanui, Septimus, Cornelian and Faugaiso. Won by a neck, two lengths between second and third, rime, Imin 17 2-ssec. First Hack Hurdles, 70 sovs; one and a half miles—Waiouru 1, Gaelic 2, Strathmoira 3. Also ran: Salopin, Teotane, Boyne Water, Fond Memory, andi Inveran. After a fine race Waiouru ran home a winner by half a length, Strathmoira a length further back. Time, 2min 52 3-ssec. Welter Hack, 66 sovs; seven furlongs.—Kina 1, St. Bees 2, Pukctotara 3. Also ran: Brown Trout, Otahu, Big Blast, Ebonite, Emma, Forediot, ivopanc, Millbank and Bonnie 3oy. Kina pumped to the front, and .vas never headed, but the finish was close and exciting, ’l ime, Imin 31 2-5 sec. AVONDALE MEETING. The following events were run after we wont to press on Saturday:— Avondale Guineas.—Miss Winsome 1, Malwa 2, Tawoen 3. Won by a length and a half. Time, Imin 42 2-5 sec. Nursery Handicap.—Monolino 1, Monorail 2, Dido 3. Won .by two and i half lengths. Time 50 l-ssec. Plurnpton Handicap.—Master Wairiki 1, EloctrakofF 2, Salute 3. Won by two and a half lengths. Time, Imin 12 2-ssec. New Lynn Handicap.—Tewhararoa 1, Menthol 2, Haku 3. Won by a length. Time, Imin 3 2-ssec. Nihotapu Handicap.—St. Albans 1, •Jollie Fillo 2, Captain Soulfc 3. Won by three-quarters of a length. Time, Imin 28 2-ssec. Mount Albert Handicap.—Lady Dot 1, Turbine 2, Hohungatahi 3. Won by a neck. Time, Imin 3 4-ssoc.
